Starting a Brand New Year !

Happy New Year !

Where do I start? In all my years on this planet, I have never seen the absolute insanity that we are witnessing on a daily basis at this point in our country's history. I am speaking in particular about our elected officials; those that we have put there through our own ignorance and blind trust in the government.

When I was a young man, we didn't see members of Congress and other elected officials behave the way they do now. There is very little dignity present in Washington these days. We have allowed ourselves to become too comfortable and too trusting. We are living in perilous times; witnessing events that we never in our wildest dreams thought we would have to have to deal with. The world is in turmoil,as well. The middle east, Europe, the Pacific Basin and the Far East..... no region has been spared. We used to be the most admired and respected nation on the planet, but not anymore.

We see corruption in all branches of our government, so now the trust we placed in our government to always protect us and make our lives better has eroded to the point that it almost doesn't exist. Don't get me wrong, though; everything you see happening now has happened before. The scenarios are the same; the characters are just different.

What you see now can be compared to conditions that opened the way for the Nazis to come to power, and make no mistake, the agendas of countries like Russia, North Korea, and China have not changed. Putin's goal is world domination. North Korea wants to unite the Korean Peninsula, north and south, and bring it all under the control of the Kim regime. China's goal is to take back Taiwan and bring about the downfall of all democracies everywhere. These countries have always had these same goals, and time has done nothing to change their warped ideas of what the world should be like.

Then you have countries like Syria and Iran that are so far behind the times; it's amazing. That part of the world has become a breeding ground for communistic, fascist ideas, with the waters being muddied with just the right amount of religious fervor to make it easier to enlist the support of the populace.
